Swimming

Congratulations to all of the children who took part in the Sydney North Area Swimming Carnival at Homebush. In a very strong competition our students performed extremely well and were proud ambassadors for our school and zone. Many swam personal best times. Savannah, Michael, Ryan and Emma individually swam their own personal best times and there was a particularly strong performance by our junior boys relay team (Alec, Mason, Nic and Ryan) who not only came fourth in their heat but bettered their time at the zone carnival by 12 seconds. The senior girls relay team (Emma, Sally, Tara and Savannah) also performed well and showed the true spirit of determination and teamwork.

These are fantastic results and we are very proud of them all!

HARMONY DAY

On Friday, 20th March, Wideview School celebrated Harmony Day. As the theme in 2009 was EVERYONE BELONGS all the students constructed a series of paper people holding hands to celebrate and reflect on the many cultures that make up our schools.  Have a look at our classroom windows!

Harmony Day celebrates cultural diversity, a sharing of the values of our Australian democracy and the promotion of community harmony.
