Congratulations T-Ball Team!

The Girls Junior T-Ball team played in the PSSA grand final last Friday!

Unfortunately we were not victorious (lost 18 - 10) but the girls were very excited with 2nd place.

It has been a great season which has seen the girls, most of who had never played before, learn new skills and apply them during matches on a Friday. The girls should be commended on their dedication and concentration during the games and at training. It has been a pleasure to coach the team and a big thankyou to all team members from 1st and 4th term.

Also, thank you to Mrs Bell for taking the team to the games, Tiffany McGrath for her coaching skills and all the other parents who came to help and cheer on our team – we could not have done it without you.

Miss Hardie

Thanks for your Mango Support!

Dear Wideview staff, families and friends,

We deposited $644.00 into the P&C General Account from our mango fundraising. We sold 128 trays of mangos, at $5 profit per tray, and with a donation of an additional $4.00 from one family. Thank you for ongoing support and we look forward to advising next year how this money will be used to make Wideview even better for our children.

Cheers, Pam & Lyn, on behalf of Wideview P&C

Don’t Let Asthma Ruin your Summer Holidays

Summer days can mean lots of fun in the sun and outdoor activity. Unfortunately many outdoor asthma triggers, including grass, pollen, hot humid weather and poor air quality can pose a problem for people with asthma through summer. Good asthma management means being aware of your triggers and avoiding them wherever possible. Physical activity is also a very common trigger for asthma. However, as exercise is part of healthy living, it is one trigger that should be managed and not avoided!

Here are some tips to help you stay active and manage your asthma this summer….

·      Choose indoor activities on days when the air quality is poor, particularly on windy days or when there are any bushfires around.

·      Make sure you have access to your blue reliever puffer at all times.

·      If physical activity is a trigger, use a blue reliever puffer 5-10 minutes before you start exercising, and start slowly to warm up.

·      Never start exercise if you have asthma symptoms (cough, shortness of breath, wheeze)

For further information contact Asthma Foundation NSW.
