The KEEPSAKE DVD

I'd like to send a BIG THANK YOU to Emily's mum from 6H (Lou Foster) for helping me with the huge task of burning approx. 120 DVDs for year 6's special Wideview Keepsake + Canberra DVD's. I couldn't have done it without you and your wonderful work mates at Lewis Securities located in Berowra. Kind regards Marg Gibson (Nick's Mum)
YEAR
6 FORMAL
Wonderful memories were made on Monday at Year 6's
formal at Asquith Golf Club. Having an enthusiastic DJ definitely made
the night a hit with everyone including the parents putting on their dancing
shoes. Thank you to the Year 6 parents for purchasing the Keepsake DVD's
as the money went towards paying for the DJ and the decorations (helium
balloons, table weights and lollies). Enjoy High School Year 6 - we will
miss you all!

Wakakirri
2008 Story Ideas
In
2007 the signature item for Wakakirri was “ring”. We successfully incorporated
this signature item into our “Saving Saturn” production and won NSW’s “Best Use
of the Signature Item” award.
For
2008 the signature item is “tap”. Schools can represent the signature item as
part of their work in any way they choose. It can be used thematically or
literally, it can be on
stage
for the entire item or for a second. For example the signature item ‘tap’
could be (although certainly not limited to): - a water tap ... tapping
into something ... tap dancing...
The
Wakakirri theme for 2008 is our world - Who are we? What surrounds us? The ‘theme’ of our world is in no way meant to
limit the stories told by schools. If you look for it, you’ll find all
stories examine the worlds around us, both real and imagined.

We are asking all students, staff and parents at Wideview to start thinking of ideas that we may be able to use for our 2008 production. We are after ideas either incorporating the theme “our world” or the signature item “tap” or both. The stories told can either be original or original interpretations of existing stories.
Please
give all of you ideas to Miss Reynolds or Mrs Wargren or email them to angela.reynolds2@education.nsw.gov.au
