10am - 3pm
With this lovely sunny
weather, the grounds appear to be drying out, for our Rides Day on the 21st
June.
We will have more information as to ' Whats on' for Rides day in next week’s
news letter. We will be having a mini
market in the Hall, and goodies to be Auctioned off on the day.
For those of you who still have those delicious cake recipes on hand, cake
trays are available to pick up at the office,
and can be dropped off at the Hall filled with yummy cakes, cupcakes, slices..
on the morning of Rides Day.
Debating
On
Friday Wideview A had their first debate in the Premier’s Debating Challenge
against Waitara. It was a high quality debate and the Wideview team of Leonie, Arielle,
Ashleigh and Charlotte won the debate. In the Premier’s Debating Challenge the
students only get 1 hour to prepare for the debate after getting their topic.
The topic for this debate was that
teachers should wear school uniform and Wideview had the negative. A
wonderful effort by the girls.
In
the Hornsby/ Hills District debating competition we had our first debate
against Mt Kuring-gai Public School Tuesday. The topic was that the ability to spell and add is not that important today.
Wideview took the negative. Our team of Emma, Ashleigh N, Arriahne and Amy did
a great job but were unfortunately beaten. They made some good arguments and
rebuts and will gain a lot from their first ever debate.
Public Speaking
The
Wideview Public Speaking Competition is now complete. All students are to be
commended on their efforts in this competition. We heard a wonderful variety of
speeches and the children have all learnt something and grown in confidence
from the experience. The winners from each of the four stages are:
Kindy – Sequoia C
Stage 1 – Amy W
Stage 2 – Jessica F
Stage 3 – Leonie L
Congratulations
to all our winners.

response to high demand for dance experiences for students in Years K -

with talent and skills in dance to be involved in a fun, challenging and
stimulating dance education program.

For further information please see Miss Reynolds.
From the P&C….
“What
is the P&C doing?” This is a question that is often asked. Apart from
constant fundraising we also get to spend the funds on great things for the
school and our children.
The
P&C is finalising its goals for this year and we would like as much input
as possible from the wider school community. The list below shows some ideas
that we have come up with already but have you got any others?
