State Athletics Carnival

Next Wednesday we have three students representing, not only Wideview Public School, but also the Sydney Region at the State Athletics Carnival, held at Homebush. Campbell Lemckert, Nicholas Frost and Emma Frost will all be competing in discus events. Nicholas Frost was runner up to Zone Champion at our Zone Carnival last term. Emma Frost, who was Zone Champion for Senior Girls, will also be competing in shot put on Thursday.

We congratulate Campbell, Nicholas and Emma for their achievements  and wish them the best of luck next week.

Dance News

Dance workshops began this week. If you missed this week, it is not too late. Please get a note from the office. Dance workshops are held on the following mornings:

Tuesday - current Year 4 and 5 girls

Wednesday - current Year 2, 3, 4 and 5 boys

Thursday - current Year 2 and 3 girls.

If you plan to take part in the Term 4 dance workshops or the 2010 dance groups, please return the blue note tomorrow.

Please do not drop your child off for dance lessons in the school car park. We have a lot of children in each group and the car park becomes very dangerous if all parents are trying to drop their children off around 8 o’clock. It is much safer for children to walk in the school gate and along the footpath.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to see us.

Kind regards

Angela Reynolds and Lorraine Wargren

Jazz Shoe Pool

We currently have only a few pairs of black jazz shoes to sell. If you have jazz shoes that you have outgrown please place them in a zip lock bag with your name on it and give them to Miss Reynolds. You will receive $10 for your old jazz shoes when they have been sold. You can also purchase 2nd hand jazz shoes from us for $10 if we have the correct size for you. You do not have to be a member of the school dance groups to buy or sell shoes through the jazz shoe pool.

Please see Miss Reynolds or Mrs Wargren for more information.

Our School’s Cookbook

Your family recipes are needed for our Wideview Cookbook to help raise money for the canteen.  Please send in your yummy recipes to the canteen with your name and class included as your name will be in the cookbook as well.  The cookbook will be on sale later in the year just in time for Christmas.

Children’s Artwork

In our Wideview Cookbook we would like to use pictures (food related) for the front and back cover and also throughout the cookbook on title pages.

For example cakes, biscuits, jams etc.  If your child would like to do some pictures please make sure their name is on it as this will be shown in the cookbook.  Not all pictures will be used as the right picture for the appropriate page will be selected.

All pictures and recipes or questions to be asked can be handed in at the canteen or emailed to Liesel Balken lbalken@gmail.com.

We’ll look forward to seeing your yummy recipes.
